AM Académie

Sport as a ground for passing on

Founded in March 2023 by Alexandre Mazzia and Lamine Diarra, the association brings together basketball, nutrition and inclusion.

A shared passion

The orange ball, a school of teamwork

Alexandre Mazzia’s story is not written in kitchens alone. It keeps a deep bond with basketball, the sport that shaped his relationship to the team, to effort, to precision and to passing things on.

Founded in March 2023 by Alexandre Mazzia and Lamine Diarra, a sports educator, the AM Académie was born of this shared passion for the orange ball and of a common conviction: sport can become a lever for education, confidence, inclusion and openness.

The foundation

Nutrition, basketball and inclusion

PILLAR 01

Nutrition

Educating taste and well-being, inseparable from sporting performance.

PILLAR 02

Basketball

The value of training, of the repeated gesture and of the team.

PILLAR 03

Inclusion

Social diversity and openness, at the heart of every action.

The association upholds a vision in which sporting performance cannot be separated from educating taste, well-being and social diversity. Alexandre Mazzia brings his path as a former player turned three-star chef, with the particular experience of someone who knows the value of training, of the repeated gesture and of the team.

Paris 2024

Feeding the greatest athletes

As a chef at the athletes’ village of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Alexandre Mazzia saw first-hand how closely sport and nutrition are linked for the very best. He had to showcase French gastronomy while meeting the nutritional and dietary needs of more than 10,000 athletes.

After drawing up the recipes with many nutritionists, he continued these conversations directly with the athletes, talking with many of them about their needs according to their discipline and training as he served their meals.

From these exchanges and his own experience came a deep desire to teach young athletes about nutrition, which he now puts to work for the AM Académie.
